For this year’s A-Z Challenge, I have
chosen to
highlight authors and their books,
that we, in our book club, have read, as a group, separately or have been
recommended by someone in our facebook, Book Club, ‘What to Read Next?’
The kind and every so diligent readers in our facebook , book club, "What to read Next?", came through for me again, with their reading suggestions.
So without further ado.
U is for Urquart, Jane - Sanctuary Line
From Amazon:
Set in the present day on a farm at the shores of Lake Erie, Jane Urquhart's stunning new novel weaves elements from the nineteenth-century past, in Ireland and Ontario, into a gradually unfolding contemporary story of events in the lives of the members of one family that come to alter their futures irrevocably. There are ancestral lighthouse-keepers, seasonal Mexican workers; the migratory patterns and survival techniques of the Monarch butterfly; the tragedy of a young woman's death during a tour of duty in Afghanistan; three very different but equally powerful love stories. Jane Urquhart brings to vivid life the things of the past that make us who we are, and reveals the sometimes difficult path to understanding and forgiveness.

ReplyDeleteThanks for you kind comment. Might just be a good read.
DeleteI am a voracious reader and a library volunteer for some years- I'll be looking for this book! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such nice comments. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I does seem like a good read.
DeleteWow, I didn't know people were called Urquhart!
ReplyDeleteI just blogged about Urquhart Castle, do you know of a connection? Hmmm

Urquart is a fairly common name around here. There are 65 just in our little phone book, alone. I doubt there is any connection to the Castle, but one never knows. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteLooks like a good book for our First Wednesday Lunch Bunch. Thanks for sharing. I want to see how any author can manage "three very different but equally powerful love stories", when I have so much trouble with just one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments and for joining Oak Lawn Images-Page. Did you see the link to our on-line reading group? Lots of good book suggestions there, too.
DeleteHi, I saw your link on Carolyn's blog and thought I'd check it out. I like your little book blurbs, and the pretty pictures!
ReplyDeleteRebecca at The Ninja Librarian
Thanks for checking out my posts, Rebecca. I'll be over for a visit with you, too.
DeleteStopping by form your earlier visit. What a great idea for a series. I'm not much into contemporary fiction, but this book intrigues me. I will definitely have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by for a visit and glad you found a new read.
DeleteSounds like an interesting book. Glad people are having book clubs online. The one thing I like about reviews is that I feel like these are book clubs where anyone can drop by and comment on what we read. It might be years after you read a certain book, but it makes you feel like part of a group that is discussing something we all very much enjoyed.
