Well maybe a couple of words. My grandmother, who lived near, used to say the cold always stayed until the lake was free of ice. So, for those who used to live near and are now living away, I've decided to keep a photographic record if the progress of the 'rotting ice' in the lake. And I'm hoping the process doesn't take too long....waiting for Spring.

I remember her saying that. Hopefully it won't take long. Love that shot of the lake!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat. I hope so too, but I'll keep posting the photos as the ice rots...could be another month or so.But even that is encouraging!
DeleteI can't believe the lake is open, makes me believe spring is indeed on the way! I don't remember Grammie saying that but it describes it well.
ReplyDeleteShe also used to say that it will stay cold until the river and lake is free of ice.
DeleteThanks for your comment, Monica. It was dark when I got home this evening, but I'll bet that opening is a lot wider now after all that rain!!
