The White Christmas Tree 2011

"Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree"

My husband tells me we have too many ornaments on our tree. After 40 years of Christmases, I've accumulated quite a few. Many of the 'old' ones have deep sentimental value...they need to go on the tree. All the ones made by the children when they were younger...well, they have to go on the tree. The ones given to us as gifts from friends and family...well we can't leave them out. All the pretty shiny ones we've used and have become a tradition...they just ...have to...go on the tree.
After all, I didn't put the glittery tinsel on this year, so I think I've really held back.

How do you decide which decorations to put on and which to leave off? I can't decide!  Help!!

  1. That is a pretty good size tree. I love a tree that has sentimental feeling in it because of the ornaments. Your angel is lovely and the train is just plain fun! I also grew up putting the garland on the tree.

  2. As the Christmas tree decorator of our household and a fussy one at that, I think your tree looks absolutely wonderful Kathy. There's no way you have too many ornaments, I see lots of room for more. Very tasteful and nicely decorated. :-)

Like you, many of our Christmas ornaments have sentimental value. Here's a short video of our modest tree and some of the more special decorations.

  3. Every ornament has a memory. Thats the best part of putting them on the tree is remembering each one. Maybe you need a few small trees! ;)
